Tiana is an avid reader. She has always loved to read for pleasure. She learned how to read from her mother when she was in first grade. People learn to read so that they can open their minds to other worlds. They can discover many things through reading, and doing so can open up minds to new ideas. In order to be a good reader, one needs to be focused yet open their mind to understand what they are reading. They need to relax and take each word for what it is worth. As with any activity, practice makes perfect. Tiana became a good reader by doing this very thing, practicing. She reads for pleasure and for education, which has helped her comprehension over the years. The hardest part of reading for Tiana is trying to read a bland book. Oddly enough, the first part in looking for a book for Tiana is looking at the book's cover. Most believe to not judge a book by it's cover, however that is exactly what Tiana does. If the cover of the book appears to be interesting, Tiana will read the summary of the book in the inside cover. Only then will she decide whether or not to read the novel. Tiana reads at home very often, whether it is for school or for pleasure. In general, Tiana loves to read when it is an engaging story, otherwise she doesn't care for it. She is always open to new novels and loves learning from them.                                                            

Tiana has been a writer for a very long time. Learning from her parents and teachers, she has been writing from a young age. People write to tell their stories, to share their ideas with the world in a way that is easy to spread and usually easy to understand. In order to write well, one must have a clear understanding of the english language and alphabet. They must be able to create coherent thoughts and transfer them to writing. Tiana enjoys writing fiction stories or research papers. She also enjoys writing her thoughts in her journal so she can remember past events.Tiana's ideas for writing come from her imagination. Sometimes it will take her hours to decide on a topic to write about, other times it will take moments. Every once and a while she will wake up with an idea in the middle of the night, and feel obligated to write it down. As a writer, her mother's response is usually the most helpful. Her mother knows her better than anyone else, so she always knows what to change to make the essay really represent Tiana. Tiana writes at home on a regular basis in her journal. In general, Tiana feels pretty confident about what she writes. However, there are many times she needs to change her work before she finds a match that she can be proud of.
