AP Calc: Week 6

My life right now.

This week we focused more on these lovely derivatives. At the beginning of the week, Mr. Cresswell showed us the shortcut for the derivative (thank goodness) and things were finally started to look brighter. BUT NOOOO we can never keep it simple for long! Next thing I know BAM we are doing all these new crazy formulas and dividing derivatives and whatnot. It is really rather overwhelming. I honestly think that I understand finding the derivative from a funcinon pretty whell when you use the shortcut, but I have a really hard time with dividing and multiplying the derivatives. I think it is just something I need to get used to. We also learned about the anti derivative. I have no problem with it when it doesnt have to have fractions, but when it does I get really confused. I also have a REALLY hard time with negative exponents. I just don't remember how they work at all. Whenever I see them, I just get really confused and don't know what to do. Basically, I struggle with anything involving fractions and negative exponents, which are sort of the same thing. I was always hoping that one day it would just "click" like other things sometimes do, but I am going on year four and it still confuses me. Hopefully I will figure it out soon!
